The United Nations estimates that 783 million people live on less than $1.90 a day, an amount below the international poverty line. Over 800 million people are undernourished, going to bed hungry every night. In the US, children lack access to fresh fruit and produce necessary for health and well-being.
Food scarcity becomes even more challenging in the face of climate change. Severe and extended drought, less predictable rainy seasons and extreme weather events are driving the need for increased environmental, social, and economic resilience.
Partnering with local, well-established organizations and community members, Projects 4 Earth is excited to support sustainable food production, environmental restoration and fair trade initiatives. We will work to help alleviate hunger and expand economic opportunities while taking action to restore vitality to Earth's natural areas.
